Education support online

West Coast TAFE

The problem/opportunity being addressed

There are no tool boxes nor e- learning objects available for Certificate 111 in Education Support. Once available, the e-learning objects will make available the opportunity for Certificate 111 in Education Support to be delivered in the rural and remote WA regions. Access to Certificate 111 in Education Support will also allow Metropolitan students to undertake training in a more flexible environment.

The learners/clients and how they will benefit

The learners include unqualified Education Support workers and existing Teacher Assistants working in the industry and wishing to upskill to higher qualifications. Once completed this course these students will have an opportunity to articulate into further study through the Certificate IV and Diploma of Education support. Further, these students will enhance and improve the likelihood of employment prospects. The student cohort may also include educationally disadvantaged people, particularly those with limited access in the remote regions for study and vocational training. Thus by availability of and completion of training utilizing an on-line tool, creates a building block leading to obtaining personal and professional capacity and capability for achieving life goals.

How the training is currently delivered:

Face to face traditional teaching delivery mode - theory and practical classroom based.

How the innovation will change current delivery

Metropolitan - Face-to-face classes will become a flexible delivery mode. Remote and rural - access to flexible delivery mode will be made available.
